MISSION STATEMENT

Leading people to the truth that transforms lives in North Central Ohio and around the world

CORE VALUES

1. COMMITTED to Glorifying God

Biblical Teaching:

We believe that biblically based teaching is the catalyst for life

transformation and spiritual growth of the church. This includes the concept of teaching life changing principles through the exposition of the Scripture in an exegetical way. Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16; James 1:23-25

Godly Stewardship:

Biblical Stewardship acknowledges in practice that we do not have the right of

control over our property or ourselves—God has control. It means as stewards of God we are managers of that which belongs to God, and we are under His constant authority as we administer His affairs of time, treasure, talent, and body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Colossians 3:23-24

Creativity with Excellence:

We believe that creativity and excellence are at the very heart of our Creator

and that honors God and inspires people; therefore we are committed to

creativity and innovations done with quality. This includes the concepts of evaluation, critical review, intensity, and excellence. Colossians 3:1; Malachi 1:6 14; Proverbs 27:17

2. CONNECTED in Community

Worshipping:

The Christian life was never meant to be solitary. All of the biblical

metaphors for a church indicate a plurality, never a singularity: we are a body, a flock, a building, and a holy nation. Therefore we highly value the gathering of the church to learn and praise Christ together corporately.

John 4:23, 10:10; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:26; Hebrews 10:24-25

Connecting:

Community Groups - Community Groups build upon the care, growth, and fellowship modeled by the early church. These groups are focused on Bible study, prayer, and growing in Christlikeness through one-on-one life

application.

Connection Groups – Connection Groups are focused on connecting

people to the overall ministry of Crossroads. These groups are meant to

enhance connection with other Crossroads attendees for the purpose of

fellowship and encouragement. Connection Groups include Men’s Groups, Women’s Groups, Young Adult Ministry, and Crossroads Connect.

Classes @ Crossroads – Classes @ Crossroads are designed to provide

teaching environments on specific subjects and areas of growth and

development (i.e. Finances, Marriage, Raising Kids, Apologetics, etc).

Serving:

Serve Teams - We believe that the church functions at its peak when men and women are stewarding their spiritual gifts through service to the body. This includes the concept of unity, servanthood, spiritual gifts, and active

ministry participation. 1 Corinthians 12 and 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4

3. CALLED to Share

Personal:

We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to the church and the individual believer. This is especially understood in the sphere of

influence God has placed each of us for His purposes. Therefore, every believer has been given a Divine call to share Christ with people. Luke 15; Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20

Local:

The church is the only organization on the planet that doesn’t exist for itself. We exist to not only grow as a church but to dynamically change the community around us. Therefore, we share with compassion throughout our city and region with the hope that the gospel will change our communities to the glory of Christ. We are helped by deep partnerships with like-minded ministries and organizations that serve our communities. Matthew 9:35-38; James 1:27, 2:14-17; 1 John 3:16-18

Global:

We believe that we serve a God of the nations and as a result of a calling to share the gospel around the world. Our goal is to be a church of world-impacting disciples who partner with brothers and sisters around the world to produce fruit for Christ’s glory. Our strategy is to send “Go Mission Teams” to serve the church around the world through exposure to other cultures, allowing God to build

international relationships and experiences that will prompt people to share

themselves more boldly in every context. Psalm 67; Matthew 24:14;

Romans 10:14-15; Revelation 5:9, 7:9-10

At Crossroads Church in Mansfield, Ohio, our core values shape the way we do life and church.

We believe that these three values sum up best what our church is all about, as they find their source in God’s unchanging word.
